Members of the committee strive to make our world locally and globally.. a better place. Those in need are served through several ongoing programs. The social justice working group, a subcommittee of Outreach, advocates for those who seek justice in the world and to make known their plight.
Trinity participates in the Canadian Foodgrains project, initiating a partnership with Silver Spire United in St. Catharines and Smithville United. First Grantham United in St.Catharines is the newest church to join the partnership. Crops are grown on the farm of Larry and Marg Dyck and the yearly harvest goes toward the Foodgrains Bank, a Christian response to the need to feed the hungry in the developing world.
Hispanic migrant workers are helped with their basic needs through Trinity partnership with St. Alban’s Anglican Church through the Compesino Project. Support for female migrant workers has been raised through proceeds from a WomEnchant concert, an all-female choral group.
Caribbean workers are assisted through the hosting a of special church service at Trinity in June of each year.
The committee facilitates a monthly food drive through the congregation to raise dollars and needed items for the shelves at West Niagara Community Care.
Trinity assists Wesley Urban Ministries during seasonal times of need. Volunteers help with the Wesley Christmas Store and members of the congregation hold a Toy Drive and White Christmas to help fill the shelves. At Easter, Trinity volunteers host a dinner at Wesley for those in need.
Outreach hosts a Speaker Series for enlightenment and the raising of funds for various causes. For example, dollars have been raised for the Stephen Lewis Foundation and for the Compesino Project.
During the winter months, Outreach participates in the Out of the Cold program, providing shelter for those who need it.
Volunteers cleanup a section of Mountain Street in Beamsville, with Outreach as part of the Adopt-a-Road program.
Outreach conducts an Minute-For-Mission each month during regular Sunday service. Its a time update the congregation on what their mission dollar contributions are doing.
